Let's skip the 80s, where I earned a Diploma in Audio Engineering, failed to become a rock star and took up selling computers. In the 1990s, I gave up selling computers and started selling people.
I started a business that created innovative resumés and also newsletters for sole traders/small business. Before I knew it, the Government sector found out, and I wound up teaching people the skills they needed to run their own businesses. It was fun, but meant dealing with a bunch of red tape, so I obtained a qualification in Adult Education, and jumped headfirst into the 2000s by talking my way into a consulting job with a major recruitment, training and HR consulting firm. Here's what happened next: |
I FOUND PEOPLEI became a respected headhunter, working on assignments in the private and public sector, on roles with up to a $1m annual salary.
I count amongst my referees some true legends, both local and international. |
I CONSULTEDAppeared an expert witness (SA/ NSW Family and Supreme Courts, Workcover Tribunal). I worked out salaries for up to 132 employees per organisation, wrote HR reports for Adelaide Airport Limited, Anglicare and ABB Grain (that's just the A's).
|
I MANAGEDI took over the day-to-day Operations of a major boutique head-hunting firm, and designed and ran the recruitment and operations functions from the ground up.
I even wrote and released a book on the subject. |
